Marr Wind Farm

Marr, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Site Status: Planning permission has been granted by the Council and work has begun to prepare the site for construction

The site we have identified lies on arable farm land to the south of Marr.

The wind farm will comprise of four wind turbines, each with an electricity generating capacity of between 2-3 MW. The turbines will have a hub height of around 80m, a rotor diameter of around 90m and a maximum tip height of 125m.

It will provide enough electricity for up to 6,700 homes with no production of greenhouse gases.

Site investigations will shortly start on the site. This will provide information for the design of the foundations for the turbines.

The local electricity grid operator,YEDL, has also provided us with the information required to connect the wind farm to the grid.

Pre Qualification Questionnaires have been completed by a number of prospective civil engineering and electrical contractors.
