Former Crofton Mill Colliery,
Blyth, Northumberland
Site Status: Phase One approved November 2006, Phase Two submitted April 2008
Local Authority: Blyth Valley District Council

Banks Developments received outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the former Crofton Mill Pit in November 2006. A new extended scheme has been submitted to Blyth Valley Council for planning approval. This increases the number of homes on the site to 79.

Demolition works have already started to remove the old colliery buildings and clean up the derelict site, which has been a regular target for vandals and fly tippers.

This small site is another part of the wider regeneration of Blyth, alongside the company’s plans for the former Bates Colliery in the north of the Town.
