Cambois

Banks Developments has recently purchased the former Vald Birn Foundry site and is undertaking a wider comprehensive land assembly on the Cambois peninsula.

A public exhibition in December 2007 was held to reveal the company’s plans for an sustainable development in this area. With positive feedback from Wansbeck District Council, Banks is preparing plans to regenerate derelict industrial land and a green field which is controlled by the local authority.

The scope of these ambitious plans include a new community consisting of ‘eco’ standard homes that are compliant with the newly released Code for Sustainable Homes. It is likely that the best future for Cambois will include new retail amenities and leisure/school facilities necessary for a sustainable community.
