Banks’ vision for Cardenden, in the heart of Fife, is to create Scotland’s first eco-town. The Development will harness the abundance of local natural resources and realise the environmental, economic and recreational potential of the area, making the most of its central locus: it will provide well designed homes of environmental excellence for people of all incomes: and contribute towards the on-going economic regeneration of Cardenden and Mid-Fife.

In Partnership with five major landowners, Banks Developments control 1,200 acres around Cardenden.
We consider that the Cardenden Eco-town will provide a blueprint for sustainable development and regeneration of communities throughout Scotland.

Submissions have been made to the Scottish government’s Firm Foundations Document, the Fife Structure Plan and the Kirkcaldy and Mid Fife Local Plan Issues Paper.  Cardenden Eco-town was also submitted to the Scottish Government as part of the Scottish Sustainable Communities Initiative (SSCI).

We now require the political support to make this vision a reality.
